Hi Bastien,
May you live 1000 years …!!!! Many a times we need to shift files from one location to another. and Many a times these files include formulae having external references. I always longed for one option which will convert formulae in such a way that they references don't change if we move files and after moving files we can reconvert them to there origianl shape.

Hello Kanwaljit,

You are right. Excel should somehow be able to refer to files just as websites do, relative referencing. It will work only if the file is in the same folder but otherwise Excel makes the link to the full path and filename.

At this moment I'm working for a project that has this issue too. I will see how I can adept a usefull solution into ASAP Utilities.

After a few searches in the Newsgroups I found out that Laurent Longre's formula package contains a worksheet function that allows you to use relative referencing to other workbooks:

I'm now curious if Microsoft has changed this behaviour in Excel 2007.

Kind regards,

Dear Bastein,

Kindly consider release of 4.0.5 as pure XLA file in zip format rather than a XLA/DLL file as a setup

The mixed version is not usable in office…. I am forced to use 3.10E despite having Excel 2003

Hi Bastien,
Delighted to learn that you are considering the relative referencing option in ASAP utilities. May you succeed. I doubt that no such change has taken place in Excel 2007
