Hip hip hurray! (pre-release of the new version available)

Hello everybody,

The pre-release of the new version of ASAP Utilities now available.
New exiting tools have been added and several improvements have been made.

  • Do you often work with Excel's Filters or AutoFilters?
  • Did you ever wanted to change your conditional formatting to static formatting (like "copy > paste values" for formulas)?
  • Would you like a way to automatically have a cell'value or formula added as a comment?
  • Do you need to change the JD Edwards (AS/400) Julian dates to dates that Excel can handle?

    ...the new version will do all this and more.

Hi Bastien,

May the Family Live 1000 Years !

There is a feature "Insert before and/or after each cell in yours selection".
Is there something like "insert the contents of column B before and/or after each corresponding cell of column A".
I have to join the contents of two or more columns a lot of time when the data downloaded from web is copied and we use text to column feature, often there is a need to join two or more columns which otherwise could not be kept in a single column at the time of using "Text to column" utility.

We use drag and fill to complete the lists in normal environment. But in case of a filtered sheet it is not possible. I wish there could be a utility which could fill in the serial number and / or other lists in a filtered list :)

You can use the following tool to help you with that:
Fill » Quick numbering of selected cells…

In case of a filtered list, it only numbers the visible cells in your selection.
It doesn't detect the data already entered like Excel does when filling series, but you can use the many options of the tool to create a sequence.

This is the coolest tool. I cannot figure out how to get files to save as .dbf. I am running windows XP with 2007 microsoft office. Can anyone help?

Thank you for your compliment.
MS has removed the DBF export from Excel with version 2007 and 2010.

I have heard are few good reactions from people who used the SaveDBF add-in to create DBF files from Excel 2007. It used to be free, but I'm not sure now anymore.
