Home grown strawberryASAP Utilities version 4.5.4 (September 1, 2009) has just been released!

We're proud to announce that the new version of ASAP Utilities is available in the German language too.
We have also added two new tools and made several improvements.

Thank you for your feedback.

Unfortunately this is how Excel/macros works and I'm unable to change this.
When you edit the cell contents via a macro the content of the cell is replaced with a new value.
If you have specified a different formatting for certain characters within the cell, then the entire cell is formatted as the first character in the cell.
I have tried to create a workaround for this but I am unable to do so.
Furthermore if I try to record a macro to see what happens when I remove the first character of cell E5 in your example, Excel tells me that it is "unable to record" the action. I have never seen that before and it seems that there is no other way to do this via a macro.

It just occurred to me while I was using the Utility Text->all utilities for changing text case (3-7), that there are many cases where the text contains leading spaces and using the above utility alone doesn't serve the purpose in cases where the text contain leading space as in that case the space is treated as the 1st character. While using these utilities User should be given an additional / clubbed option to replace Leading spaces occurring in the selection, so that the desired results may be achieved.

While using the Utility 6->10,11 (remove empty rows and columns), there are many cases where the row or column only contains spaces and so above utilities are unable to remove the rows and columns containing spaces only. While using these utilities User should be given an additional / clubbed option to remove rows / columns containing only spaces too, so that the desired results may be achieved.

The mentioned utility doesn't indeed consider cells with spaces as empty.
If you want to, you can use the following tool to empty all cells that have only a space:
Text » Delete leading and trailing spaces

Unfortunately there seem to be people that press the spacebar instead of pressing DEL to clear the contents of a cell.

We can expand many of the tools with various options, but I'm not sure if that make it always easier and everyone has its own exceptions to the general rule. The power of ASAP Utilities lies in the combination of the tools and that always gets the job done.

I use the utility "Delete leading, trailing and excessive spaces" most of all the utilities. Anyway that was a thought.

I recently used the Utility Asap->Format->Copy a page's Page and print settings." But it seems the page breaks are not getting copied. I tried it on various sheets and it is not working.
